A Santa Cruz Wedding

August 12, 2010

There are certain people who just exude joy–just being around them makes you happy.  That is Justine and Ilya.  They met while attending UC Santa Cruz so naturally this was the perfect place for the wedding….a grassy knoll, ocean views and lots of friends and family…perfection.  This was my first traditional Jewish ceremony and I loved every minute of it.  I was especially moved (yes, to tears) at the private family ceremony that took place before the big ceremony.  It was filled with symbolism and sincere devotion.  Very, very cool.  Ilya is originally from Russia and he had family that traveled a very long way to be here with the couple.  The guests were treated to a reception at the campus Student Center.  I’ve been to a lot of weddings and I have to say hands down, this was the best wedding food I have ever had : )  Everything about this day and couple thrilled me (especially the music theme of The Beatles).  It is definitely a wedding that I will remember for years to come.  Much love from your photographer Ilya and Justine!

A most beautiful wedding and exceptional couple-my beautiful daughter has found her true soul mate, Ilya; both loving, generous, hard-working and self-less people who enrich the lives of others in so many ways. The photos reflect the joy and deep love present in this marriage.
    this was a Happy day!
