I love these two kids…I can get away with calling them “kids” because I was their art teacher at Sierra High. Sloane and Cruz (seriously cool names) are getting married in May. Cruz grew up in the Sierra mountains so they wanted their engagement pictures near his hometown. Oh…we had so much fun! We had to trek a few miles above Bass Lake to find good snow but it was well worth it. Nothing like playing in the snow and breathing clean air… Here’s a little video of this completely adorable couple:

Over the past week, I have finally had a little time to gather some favorite shots from the 2009 wedding season. Looking back over the year reminded me of the wonderful people I have met and how graciously they allowed me to step into their lives for a brief moment. Traveling all over California and even to Boston, shooting more weddings than I thought I could possibly do in one year, was beyond a blessing. Thank you to everyone that made me smile behind my camera. Here’s a little video I put together…enjoy.

Erin and I hit it off the first time we met. Could it be that we both share a love for three things? Monterey, Dogs and Anthropologie. The engagement session was my first opportunity to meet Brian. I had been warned that he wasn’t fond of being in front of a camera. He quickly warmed up and we had a day full of smiles and fun. They brought along their sweet little doggies, Maya and Mika and all of them were troopers as we braved the 40 degree temperatures. So here’s the great part, the wedding is in Monterey at The Clement Hotel. Oooooo…it’s going to be so beautiful…can’t wait till July. Be sure to check back in late July to see their pictures…Maya and Mika are in the wedding!

Burrrrrrrr. This is one of the most foggy winters I can remember while living in Clovis. It definitely makes shooting outdoors a little uncomfortable. But we didn’t let that stop us last week. In fact, we had a blast shooting at various locations around Quail Lake. I met Holly and Robert last summer while Robert was home on leave from Iraq (yep, he’s one of our American hero’s). They had originally planned on having a wedding in September but instead had a small family ceremony last week and drove down to Clovis for some pictures. Holly is original and charming…I love her style. I joked with Robert, mentioning that he was a little kid in a grown ups body mainly because he is just so much fun. Holly quickly agreed. These two are off to the deep South for a few months and then it’s off to Hawaii where Robert will continue his career in the military. Best Wishes to this fun couple!

This isn’t Vegas baby…it’s Fresno! Richelle and Chris live in Las Vegas but returned home for the holidays to Clovis. Luckily we were able to get their engagement session booked while they were here because the wedding is just around the corner in March. We started the shoot in the Tower District and moved our way to downtown and the train station. It was one of those days in Fresno where the fog never lifts so with lots of cuddling, the couple stayed nice and warm while I cheered them on. I thought we were going to miss the train but just as we were finishing, the 3:30 north bound came in…perfect ending to a terrific engagement shoot.
